Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front, emphasized in an interview with “Iraf” that the Taliban’s actions should not be attributed to the Pashtun ethnic group.
He stated the Taliban represent no specific ethnicity and are merely using divisive tactics to sow mistrust among Afghanistan’s diverse communities.
Massoud revealed that the Taliban had offered him a position in their government as a representative of Panjshir and Tajiks, an offer he rejected.
He described the group’s strategy as one of isolating and discrediting opponents by inflaming ethnic tensions.
The resistance leader called for unity among all Afghans to overcome the current crisis.
His comments counter Taliban claims of inclusivity, highlighting the deep political and ethnic rifts that persist under their rule.
