The US State Department has expressed appreciation for an unidentified protester in Tehran who symbolically renamed a street after Donald Trump.

On Thursday, January 8, the department released a video of the incident, stating that the United States respects the voices of the Iranian people and supports their aspirations for freedom and opportunity.

The video shows a young man changing a street sign to “Trump” during nighttime protests.

President Donald Trump has previously voiced strong support for Iranian protesters, warning that the US would intervene if the government uses violence against them.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned Trump’s remarks as dangerous and irresponsible.

As protests continue across Iran, the US reaffirms its commitment to standing with the Iranian people.
