Police in Pakistan have confirmed a devastating suicide attack in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which has left at least five people dead and 10 others injured.
The explosion targeted a wedding celebration at the residence of Noor Alam Mehsud, a local peace committee chairman.
Initial reports indicate that Mehsud is among the deceased.
Rescue spokesperson Bilal Ahmed Faizi confirmed the casualties have been transported to the hospital, while security forces have cordoned off the area to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi strongly condemned the attack, ordering authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice.
