Herat Governor Noor Ahmad Islamjar announced significant progress on the TAPI gas pipeline following a meeting with Turkmen officials and project leaders.
It was revealed that 91 kilometers of the route within Afghanistan have been prepared for pipe laying, marking a key milestone.
The governor’s office stated that the Herat section of the pipeline is scheduled for completion by the end of the current year.
The TAPI project, designed to transport Turkmen gas to Pakistan and India via Afghanistan, has faced years of delays due to conflict.
Reviving this mega-project promises to generate jobs and substantial transit revenue for Afghanistan.
