UNICEF has issued a stark warning that Afghanistan’s education crisis is no longer confined to the ban on girls; boys’ enrollment in schools is now also plummeting.

A new report highlights that the entire educational system is on the brink of collapse, putting a whole generation at risk.

While 2.2 million girls remain barred from classrooms, economic hardship and a lack of qualified teachers are driving boys away from education as well.

Shockingly, data shows that 93% of primary school students lack basic reading proficiency.

Experts emphasize that this is a catastrophe for human and economic development.

With foundational learning crumbling, the future stability of Afghan society faces a severe threat unless immediate action is taken to restore access to quality education for all children .
