Taliban Minister of Agriculture Ataullah Omari has claimed that the group’s supreme leader, Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, spends his days and nights worrying about Afghan migrants.

Speaking in Sar-e-Pul, Omari told returnees that the leader is constantly thinking of ways to provide better services for them.

These remarks come as over ten million Afghans live below the poverty line and international aid has dwindled.

Critics argue that the Taliban’s restrictive policies, rather than lack of care, are driving the economic collapse and mass exodus of youth.

While the minister described the current regime as a “divine blessing,” reality on the ground tells a different story.

Unemployment and the ban on women’s work continue to force thousands to seek illegal and dangerous routes out of the country .
