Mike Huckabee, the US Ambassador to Israel, sparked controversy by claiming Israel has a right rooted in the “Holy Bible” to annex major parts of the Middle East. He made these remarks during an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson .
The territories mentioned by Huckabee include Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and parts of Saudi Arabia. These statements blatantly contradict international law and the principle of territorial integrity, which have been cornerstones of global order since World War II .
This claim comes despite a 2024 International Court of Justice ruling that declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories illegal. Huckabee, a staunch supporter of Israel appointed by Donald Trump, continues to push for expansionist policies .
