The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has strongly condemned Pakistan’s recent airstrikes in Nangarhar and Paktika provinces. New Delhi asserts that Islamabad is attempting to deflect blame for its own domestic failures onto neighboring countries. In this escalating tension, India has firmly expressed its support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against foreign aggression.
Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Indian Foreign Ministry, dismissed Pakistan’s claims regarding the presence of TTP militants in Afghanistan. He highlighted that the airstrikes resulted in the tragic deaths of civilians, including women and children, rather than terrorists. This diplomatic move effectively places India on the side of the Taliban administration in its standoff with Pakistan.
While Pakistan maintains that it targeted terrorist hideouts and ISIS elements, India refutes this narrative entirely. Indian officials state that such cross-border attacks during the holy month of Ramadan violate international norms and neighborly principles. The incident has further strained the already fragile geopolitical relationships in South Asia.
