Costume designer Neeta Lulla has revealed the intense security measures taken during the filming of the 2008 epic “Jodhaa Akbar.” She disclosed that five security guards were exclusively assigned to protect the jewellery worn by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, given its immense value .
For her role as Jodhaa, Aishwarya wore ornaments crafted from 400kg of gold and precious stones. Lulla explained that every piece had to be logged, handed over to the actor, and then immediately returned to a secured room under strict surveillance after each shot .
The film, known for its grandeur, took over 600 days to craft its sets and costumes. This new revelation highlights the high stakes and logistical challenges involved in creating one of Bollywood’s most visually stunning historical dramas .
