Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that “further progress” was made during the third round of indirect nuclear negotiations with Washington. Technical teams from both nations are now scheduled to meet in Vienna to finalize the details of a potential agreement regarding the nuclear issue.
Araghchi highlighted that for the first time, talks lasted nearly seven hours, allowing both sides to outline the main elements of a deal, although differences remain. He emphasized that lifting sanctions on Iran is a fundamental pillar of any future agreement reached between the two long-time adversaries.
The United States maintains it will not permit Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon, while Tehran insists its intentions are peaceful. The next round of high-stakes negotiations is expected to commence within the coming week .
