Macron confirmed the citizens are currently safe at the French embassy in Tehran but provided no details on their potential repatriation to Paris. Their prolonged detention has significantly strained bilateral diplomatic relations.
During the call, Macron also strongly urged Iran to halt its regional attacks and end its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. He reiterated deep concerns over Iran’s nuclear advancements and emphasized the need for a peaceful diplomatic resolution.
