Sources told Amu that the Taliban government has transferred Shakib Nazari, an Afghan journalist, to Bagram Prison. This happened on National Journalist Day in Afghanistan. According to sources, the Taliban sentenced him to three years in prison on charges of propaganda against the regime.
Sources added that Nazari had been held at the Taliban government's intelligence agency directorate 40. The Taliban government previously announced Nazari was arrested for cooperating with Afghan media outside the country.
Taliban-affiliated pages published a video of Nazari's "confession" claiming he shared reports and clips about women's protests with foreign media. It remains unclear under what conditions these confessions were recorded.
