Local officials of the Taliban government in Nuristan province have announced the reopening of a border crossing with Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. This route is now fully open for the movement of commercial vehicles and passengers.
According to a local spokesperson, this positive development was achieved through direct negotiations between local tribal elders and Pakistani officials. Discussions are ongoing to permanently resolve existing issues and create further travel facilitation for the residents of both sides.
The road closure, which lasted for nearly two months due to border clashes, had severely disrupted daily life and limited access to healthcare facilities for the local population who are now relieved.
