The United Nations Women's division has revealed in a newly published report that fewer than one in five female migrants returning to the country are able to secure employment and generate an income.

The alarming data shows that only seventeen percent of all women returning from Iran and Pakistan to Afghanistan can actually find work, a dire situation that significantly increases extreme poverty and starvation among vulnerable families.

UN officials have strongly urged the international community to heavily invest in teaching new skills and providing essential working tools to improve the economic status of Afghan women, helping them rebuild their fractured lives with dignity.
