The Breshna power company has announced the commencement of a major electricity transmission project in Kunduz province, valued at approximately 535 million Afghanis. This vital infrastructure project will effectively connect the Asqalan power station directly to the Dasht-e-Archi district.
According to Breshna officials, once fully completed, this new transmission line will have the capacity to transfer 140 megawatts of electricity. During the inauguration ceremony, officials stated that this initiative will provide much more sustainable energy for local residents.
Afghanistan's national electricity system continues to face severe limitations, with domestic production failing to meet public demand. The country imports the vast majority of its electricity from neighboring countries, leaving widespread domestic access to reliable power severely restricted.
