The Ministry of Refugees of the Taliban government announced that over eighty Afghan citizens have been released from Pakistani prisons this past week. These individuals were recently freed from detention centers and have successfully returned to their home country.

In an official newsletter, the ministry stated that these Afghan citizens were initially arrested by Pakistani police due to residence document issues. The Taliban government added that the duration of imprisonment for these individuals in Pakistan varied significantly.

This development follows the previous release of dozens of other Afghan citizens from various Pakistani prisons earlier this month. There has been constant public criticism regarding the lack of diplomatic attention given to imprisoned Afghans living abroad.
