Taliban government officials in Badghis province have reported that a massive landslide has killed five people and injured two others. The tragic incident occurred early Saturday morning, April 25, in the Qala-e-Naw area.
The victims were all teenage girls, four of whom belonged to the exact same family. The landslide also completely destroyed several residential houses in the local neighborhood, leaving many residents displaced and vulnerable.
Recent weeks have seen heavy rains, deadly floods, and severe weather across multiple Afghan provinces. Natural disasters have caused significant casualties and widespread damage to agricultural lands, roads, and infrastructure throughout the country.
