The Organization of Islamic Cooperation special envoy for Afghanistan stated that the country is currently facing a critical juncture. Tariq Ali Bakheet emphasized at the Istanbul meeting that immediate and coordinated global action is needed to ease human suffering.
He highlighted that sustaining humanitarian aid, particularly in food security and health services, remains crucial to prevent further escalation of the crisis. He also called for a coordinated easing of banking restrictions to facilitate aid delivery to the Afghan people.
Bakheet underscored the importance of creating alternative livelihoods to support vulnerable families and prevent economic collapse. He reaffirmed the OIC's commitment to continuous constructive dialogue with international partners to foster stability in Afghanistan.
