Local sources confirmed that an Afghan day laborer was brutally killed in the Shortepa district of Balkh province. The victim, identified as Agha Niaz, was fatally shot by unidentified armed men on Monday afternoon.
According to reports, the man worked as a daily wage laborer on the Qosh Tepa canal project and had returned home to visit his family. He was violently attacked by the gunmen while tending to his livestock in his home village.
The motive behind this murder remains unclear, and Taliban government officials have not commented on the incident. Targeted assassinations and mysterious killings of civilians have significantly increased recently, raising severe safety concerns among local families.
