The Ministry of Refugees under the Taliban government announced that nearly five hundred Afghan citizens were recently released from various prisons in Pakistan. These individuals have safely returned to Afghanistan within the past week.

According to the official statement, the majority of the returnees entered the country through the Torkham border crossing, while the rest arrived via Spin Boldak. Pakistani police had detained these migrants primarily for lacking valid legal residency documents.

The condition of Afghan prisoners abroad has consistently drawn severe criticism from experts. Many analysts argue that the lack of accountability and proper diplomatic representation leaves migrants facing uncertain futures and harsh conditions in foreign detention centers.
