Coinciding with efforts to extend the ceasefire, Lebanon's state news agency reported that Israeli forces targeted a civil defense center in the southern part of the country. At least six people tragically lost their lives in this deadly military strike.
According to published reports, three members of vital relief organizations were among those killed in the incident. Furthermore, the aggressive aerial bombardments left twenty-two other individuals severely injured, who were immediately rushed to local hospitals for treatment.
Earlier, the US State Department announced that the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon had been extended for another forty-five days. American officials remain hopeful that these ongoing mediations will eventually lead to lasting peace and security along the shared borders.
