Local residents in Takhar province report that the sudden collapse of a major bridge has completely cut off travel routes for thirty six villages. This vital structure was located over the Kokcha river in the Rustaq district and connected isolated communities to the main provincial center.
According to locals, the accumulation of massive sediment from nearby gold washing companies raised the river's water level, causing the devastating collapse. This critical situation has severely restricted public access to essential services, regional hospitals, and local food markets.
Community members are now forced to use dangerous alternative paths, which has drastically increased travel times up to five hours. Residents are urgently calling on Taliban government officials to take immediate action and reconstruct this indispensable transit route.
