Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Hegseth noted that US weapons stockpiles globally are well-positioned for such an operation. He reassured allies that the United States has not turned its back on the Asia-Pacific region and can handle multiple conflicts simultaneously.
Hegseth added that President Donald Trump remains patient and seeks a significant deal to ensure Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons. Trump is expected to make a final decision soon on a proposed 60-day ceasefire extension.
