The Taliban government has reported that more than 80 traffic accidents occurred in four provinces of Afghanistan during the Eid holidays. These accidents, which took place in Paktia, Ghazni, Kunar, and Balkh provinces, have resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries. The main causes were careless driving and speeding.

Local authorities stated that ignoring traffic rules significantly contributed to the high number of casualties. In Laghman province, a tragic incident involved returning Afghan migrants from Pakistan whose vehicle veered off the road and overturned, leaving around 20 dead and 33 injured.

Despite these deadly incidents, the Taliban government claims that the overall number of traffic accidents has decreased compared to previous years. The recent surge in road accidents across the country has raised serious concerns about road safety and infrastructure.
