Afghan-French filmmaker Siddiq Barmak has secured an international sales agent for his new movie, The Postman. The Paris-based company Le Pacte will handle the global distribution of the movie following the completion of its filming in Germany.
The story is set in 1992 Kabul and follows a postman struggling to survive amid intense political and social upheavals. The lead role is played by Hussein Hassan Ali, a talented Kurdish actor and director.
This project is a major co-production involving German, French, and Turkish companies. Barmak is highly acclaimed globally, especially for his Golden Globe-winning masterpiece, Osama.
