Iranian authorities have officially transferred 167 Afghan prisoners back to their home country to serve the remainder of their sentences. The handover took place via the Milak land border crossing with Taliban officials present.
This transfer was executed under mutual bilateral agreements coordinated by the judicial authorities of both nations. The operation strictly followed the established laws and regulations concerning the repatriation of foreign inmates.
This recent move is part of an ongoing multi-phase repatriation process. To date, more than a thousand Afghan prisoners have been safely returned home as part of this continued diplomatic cooperation between the neighboring countries.
