The United Nations Children's Fund has warned that over eight million children in Afghanistan are currently facing severe climate risks. These vulnerable children are dealing with simultaneous threats from floods, droughts, and extreme heatwaves across the country.

In its latest report, UNICEF highlighted Afghanistan as one of the most susceptible countries in South Asia for child climate vulnerability. The lack of basic services and constant environmental shocks severely threaten their health, survival, and access to education.

These ongoing climate challenges have also drastically worsened the malnutrition crisis among young Afghan citizens. The United Nations is urgently appealing to the international community to invest in climate-resilient health and education services to protect future generations.
