Newly compiled statistics reveal that over one hundred people have tragically perished in traffic accidents across Afghanistan this year. These deadly and horrific road collisions predominantly occurred on the busy highways linking Kabul to Herat, Jalalabad, and Badakhshan province.
Afghan citizens firmly attribute the primary causes of these severe accidents to crumbling road conditions and widespread reckless speeding by drivers. The distinct lack of proper traffic signs along extensive routes and narrow roads remain major complaints frequently voiced by the public.
Despite the alarming surge in these unfortunate incidents, the Taliban government has not yet introduced any clear strategy to reduce road casualties. Passenger vehicle drivers also admit that severe economic hardships force them to rush their journeys constantly.
