A severe traffic accident on the highway connecting Maimana city and Qaisar district in Almar district of Faryab province has left two people dead and four others critically injured. Officials from the Taliban government have confirmed the tragic incident and announced the launch of an investigation into the matter.

The fatal crash occurred when a Mazda truck collided head on with a Toyota Corolla passenger car. The injured victims were immediately transported to a local hospital for urgent medical care, although traffic authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of this deadly collision.

Traffic accidents continue to claim numerous lives across Afghanistan due to poor road conditions and reckless driving. Recent statistics indicate that in just the past week, dozens of accidents nationwide have resulted in the deaths of twenty six individuals, while at least eighty six others sustained injuries.
