A Taliban intelligence vehicle veered off the road and fell into a ravine at the Khak-e-Rizak pass in Shahrbuzurg district of Badakhshan province while heading toward Darwaz.
Six Taliban intelligence personnel were wounded in the incident. Three of the injured are reported to be in critical condition and were first transferred to the Wandiyan clinic before being sent to Faizabad for further treatment.
The incident comes amid escalating tensions as Taliban forces have deployed hundreds of fresh troops to Darwaz from Kabul, the south, and the north following clashes with Juma Khan Fateh's forces in Nasi district.
