The "Freedom Front of Afghanistan" announced that its forces clashed again with the Taliban in Zabak district of Badakhshan province. The fighting began around 9:00 PM on Sunday and lasted approximately 30 minutes.
According to the front, Taliban forces attacked one of its positions but were repelled. Local sources cited by the front reported that two wounded Taliban members were transferred to Zabak hospital.
The Freedom Front claims its forces have been present in parts of Zabak district for about a month, engaging in sporadic clashes with the Taliban. The Taliban have confirmed the initial clashes but denied the continued presence of the Freedom Front's forces in Zabak.
