The Taliban leader told religious scholars that knowledge is a means for progress and a better life, saying “without knowledge, a person cannot live in this world.”
His comments come as UNESCO reports that around 2.4 million girls above sixth grade are deprived of education in Afghanistan.
The Taliban have also banned girls and women from university education and medical training.
