Doctors Without Borders reported a 30 percent increase in malnutrition cases in Kandahar compared to last year.
From January to August this year, 12,530 children suffering from malnutrition visited the organization's health centers.
Poverty, food insecurity, and reduced humanitarian aid are cited as the main reasons behind the surge.
