Karim Khorram, the former Minister of Information and Culture of Afghanistan, has strongly condemned Pakistan's recent airstrikes on Kunar and Helmand provinces. In a sharp reaction, he described Islamabad's policies towards Afghanistan as "Israel-like" and warned that this approach will have historic and irreparable consequences for Pakistan.

In a note posted on the social media platform X on Friday, October 1st, Mr. Khorram wrote, "With an Israel-like policy, Pakistani officials are buying historical enmity for their nation and causing irreparable harm." These remarks come amid rising tensions between Kabul and Islamabad following the Pakistani airstrikes on Afghan border regions.

The Taliban government has confirmed that at least nine civilians, including women and children, were killed in the airstrikes. Pakistan has denied this claim, stating that it targeted terrorist positions. Referring to this issue, Karim Khorram held Pakistan responsible for the creation and nurturing of terrorism in the region.

He added in his note that it was Pakistan that created and supported terrorist groups in the region. This accusation has been repeatedly made by officials of the former Afghan government and some analysts. They believe Pakistan seeks to achieve its strategic objectives in Afghanistan by supporting extremist groups.

Khorram emphasized that the continuation of these policies not only threatens peace and stability in the region but will ultimately harm Pakistan itself. He warned that the people of Afghanistan will not forget such actions and that these policies could lead to a deep and historical enmity between the two nations.

This reaction is part of a wave of condemnations from Afghan political figures. Former President Hamid Karzai also called the attacks a violation of Afghanistan's national sovereignty and urged Pakistan to pursue engagement and good neighborly relations instead of hostile approaches.
