Mumbai Police have arrested four more individuals, including two women, in connection with the firing attack on Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff's car. The accused allegedly supplied the weapons to the shooters.
The arrests come two days after unidentified assailants opened fire on Mr. Shroff's car in Mumbai's Juhu area, though the actor escaped unhurt. A Mumbai Police team has taken the accused into custody and ought them to the city for further investigation.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Kunal, 21, and Sumit, 19, from Haryana, and Radha, 23, and Babita, 23, from Uttar Pradesh. Police stated that Kunal had recently been released on bail and had been communicating with the mastermind of the attack via an encrypted application.
The investigation revealed that Kunal procured a pistol and 20 rounds of ammunition from Amritsar and then persuaded Radha to transport the weapon to Mumbai. The two women arrived in Mumbai on October 17 and checked into a hotel. A minor boy later allegedly collected the bag containing the weapon from Radha.
Radha and Babita left Mumbai on October 18 but were apprehended at the New Delhi Railway Station on October 20. Meanwhile, Kunal and Sumit were detained in Sonipat. In the incident, which occurred near Pushpa Park, Tiger Shroff's driver and an autorickshaw driver were injured, but the actor himself remained safe.
The motive for the attack has not been officially declared, but such incidents in the past have often been linked to extortion attempts on famous Bollywood personalities. The investigation is ongoing.
