Residents of Nirkh district in Maidan Wardak province have voiced frustration over a severe lack of healthcare services, essential medicine, and proper clinic infrastructure in the area. Local people say basic treatment has become a major challenge.

According to Amu TV, a community elder in the village of Titmor in Nirkh district stated that despite housing more than 1,500 families, the village lacks a dedicated and standard building for a local clinic.

Abdullah Khan, village head of Titmor, told Amu TV that the community had to rent a private house to run the clinic. He demanded that local authorities construct a proper facility and provide adequate resources.

Meanwhile, residents in the Andar area of Nirkh district also complained about severe shortages of medication, electricity, and clean water. Hazrat Omar, a local resident, told Amu TV that water must be brought from homes because the clinic lacks even a basic storage tank.

Locals emphasized that widespread poverty and high transport fares prevent them from taking sick relatives to distant or better-equipped health centres, leaving vulnerable families without alternative care.

Additionally, residents noted that Maidan Wardak's position along the Kabul-Kandahar and Kabul-Bamyan highways results in frequent traffic accidents, yet the provincial hospital, built nearly 50 years ago, can no longer handle local needs or the influx of injured victims.
