The seventh summit of Central Asian countries’ leaders to enhance regional cooperation began on Saturday, November 15th, in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and will continue until tomorrow.
Six leaders are participating including Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, Sadyr Japarov, President of Kyrgyzstan, and Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan.
The agenda focuses on increasing regional cooperation and implementing major joint projects.
Economic cooperation memorandums among the mentioned countries are expected to be signed during this summit.
Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan are also participating in this meeting.
Central Asian leaders have consistently linked regional peace and stability to controlling terrorism in Afghanistan.
This summit aims to strengthen regional convergence and ensure security and stability in this part of the world, representing continued efforts for multilateral cooperation among neighboring nations.
