Taliban government officials announced the initiation of construction work for the second phase of the Jabul Saraj cement plant during an official meeting in Parwan province. This large and important project will be implemented and fully funded by the National Development Company to boost domestic production.
Abdul Salam Hanafi, the deputy prime minister of the Taliban government, stated that this massive factory will have the impressive capacity to produce five thousand tons of cement every twenty-four hours. The contract for the first phase of this project was signed in 2023 with significant financial investment.
The Jabul Saraj cement plant initially started its operations in 1958 with domestic capital, but its operations were suspended multiple times over the decades. Now, experts expect that the successful completion of the second phase will considerably satisfy the country's growing need for cement materials.
