The United Front of Afghanistan announced Friday that its forces successfully targeted a Taliban security command post in Argu district of Badakhshan province, killing one Taliban member and wounding four others. Taliban authorities have not commented on the claim.
Local sources had earlier reported that Taliban positions were struck by rocket fire during a patrol in Argu district. Taliban forces subsequently arrested at least three individuals following the attack.
The United Front, led by Sami Sadat, has claimed responsibility for multiple operations across at least six provinces over the past week and announced plans to expand its operations further across Afghanistan.
