Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that he feels his country is in the process of losing crucial support from the United States.

Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported on Wednesday night, October 14, that Zelenskyy made the remarks during a trip to the United Kingdom. He expressed his concern over shifting policies in Washington regarding the war in his country.

According to the report, Zelenskyy said he felt a sense of "betrayal" regarding the "energy ceasefire" and a diesel fuel agreement with Russia pushed by US President Donald Trump. However, he stressed that Ukraine still relies on its strategic partnership with the United States.

The Ukrainian president criticized Trump's recent policies, stating, "I think his advisers are mistaken. I don't know who is pushing him in the wrong direction… This is not the right side of history."

These comments come as Donald Trump has recently called on Ukraine to cease its attacks on Russian oil facilities, a move seen by some as a shift in the American approach to the conflict.

Since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, the United States has been Ukraine's largest military and financial backer. Any significant reduction in American support could have a severe impact on Ukraine's defense capabilities and alter the course of the war, a prospect that also worries Ukraine's European allies.
