Radio Sweden reports that the activities of the Swedish Committee in Afghanistan have been suspended since March 15.
The main reason for this action is not clear, but the media reports that the permission of this committee to work in Afghanistan was canceled by the Taliban.
According to Radio Sweden, the Taliban government had previously demanded to stop the work of this committee, and now this organization is not sure how to continue its activities in Afghanistan due to the safety of its employees.
In addition, Andreas Stephenson, the committee’s representative for Afghanistan, has said that they cannot put their employees at risk.
The Swedish Committee began its work in Afghanistan four decades ago in 1980, but its work has been restricted by the Taliban for the past two years.
