The Torkham border crossing in Nangarhar province has once again been closed indefinitely.

Local sources have confirmed that the closure follows a dispute between Taliban forces and Pakistani officials over the entry of children without visas across the border.

According to reports, Pakistani authorities prevented Afghan children without visas from entering Pakistan, leading to tensions between the two sides.

The Torkham crossing, one of the most important routes for people’s movement and trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan, will remain closed for an unspecified period.

This is not the first time the Torkham gate has been closed. In the past, this border crossing has been shut down multiple times due to various reasons, including political disagreements between the two countries.

The closure negatively impacts not only people’s movement but also trade relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
