Nasir Ahmad Faiq, acting permanent representative of Afghanistan at the United Nations, wrote on his X page on Monday, September 8th, that the killing and detention of former soldiers by the Taliban group constitutes a crime against humanity .

He emphasized that there are many documented reports about the detention, killing and torture of former soldiers.

Faiq added that the Taliban must be held accountable for their vengeful actions and that killing prisoners and non-combatants is against human laws and Islamic teachings.

According to reports, the Taliban recently detained two former government soldiers, Parviz Saidkhili and Farid Saidkhili, after their return from Iran and Pakistan in Kabul.

The United Nations has also published documented reports about the detention, torture and killing of former soldiers after returning from neighboring countries.

These two former soldiers had previously been detained by the Taliban and spent time in prison.
