Ali Amin Gandapur, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, revealed Wednesday that his passport has been blocked since May 9, 2023.
This blockade has prevented him from traveling to Afghanistan for peace negotiations.
The statement came after Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, requested Gandapur to visit Kabul for consultations on mutual issues and peace.
A multi-party advisory meeting had also emphasized the importance of dialogue with Afghanistan at the governmental level.
Gandapur said he attempted to renew his passport, but relevant authorities refused, citing the blockade following the May 9, 2023 riots.
He declared that if Imran Khan orders him to travel to Afghanistan, he would go even without a passport.
