Seyyed Mohammad Atabak, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, arrived in Kabul today leading a high-ranking delegation.
This visit follows recent economic discussions between the two countries and comes after a meeting between Nooruddin Azizi, acting Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Taliban group, and Alireza Bigdeli, Iran’s ambassador in Kabul.
The Iranian economic and commercial delegation has come to Kabul to identify problems, develop bilateral trade, and facilitate transit and investment sectors.
The delegation will meet and discuss with Taliban group officials and private sector members from Afghanistan.
According to Iran’s customs statistics, Afghanistan is currently the fifth destination for Iranian goods exports.
Economic relations between the two countries have been strengthened especially in the past two years through increased exchange of trade delegations, exhibitions, and commercial missions.
