Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, responded to Donald Trump’s statements about returning to Bagram base, declaring that the Taliban group is unwilling to hand over Afghan soil to America.

On Wednesday, September 30th, he stated in an interview that while Trump claimed he would take Bagram airport, the Taliban minister announced they wouldn’t give even an inch of land.

Larijani emphasized that American presence in the region faces resistance and that aerial bombardment cannot topple regimes like the Islamic Republic.

He described American military campaigns in regional countries as deadly for American soldiers, noting that Iraq and Afghanistan did not submit to America’s control, forcing the country to withdraw from the region.

Russia, China, and Iran have warned against America’s return to Afghanistan.

Foreign ministers of these countries declared that an American base in Afghanistan would disrupt regional security and stability.

The Taliban group remains under American pressure to hand over this strategic base north of Kabul, though the mechanism for America’s potential return remains unclear.
