Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban group, confirmed that Mullah Yaqoob Mujahid, the group’s defense minister, has traveled to Doha to negotiate with Pakistani officials.
On Saturday, October 18th, he wrote on X that the Taliban group has the right to respond to Pakistani attacks, but out of respect for the negotiating team in Doha, Taliban forces have been ordered to refrain from new military operations.
The Taliban group’s spokesman said that last night, in Pakistani military attacks on areas of Paktika province, a number of civilians were killed and wounded.
France Press agency, quoting a provincial hospital official in Paktika, reported that in these attacks, at least 10 civilians including three cricket players were killed and 12 others were wounded.
Zabihullah Mujahid condemned these attacks and considered their repetition an attempt to prolong the war.
He says the Taliban group believes in peaceful resolution and regional security, but everything that happens is the result of Pakistani aggression.
