Dr. Robin Corbet, senior research scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, has proposed a fresh theory about cosmic silence.

He suggests that extraterrestrials might have simply gotten bored trying to contact humans because they find us ordinary and unimpressive. This theory is called “radical mundanity.”

Corbet proposes that alien civilizations might be only slightly more advanced than us and aren’t particularly impressed with humanity.

Sending powerful signals or probes across galaxies would require immense energy and could take millions of years to receive a response. This long wait might have discouraged them from continuing their efforts.

This theory offers a new perspective on the Fermi paradox, which questions why space seems so quiet despite the universe’s vastness.

Instead of imagining super-advanced civilizations, maybe most are pretty average and not interested in chatting. Perhaps cosmic silence is just normal.
