Sean “Diddy” Combs, the 55-year-old rap mogul, will be released from federal prison on May 8, 2028, following his 50-month sentence for violating the Mann Act He was sentenced in October 2025 but acquitted of more serious charges including sex trafficking and racketeering.
Combs is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and could serve approximately 85% of his sentence with good behavior Judge Arun Subramanian deemed the prosecution’s request for 135 months “beyond necessary” while calling the defense’s 14-month appeal “insufficient.”
His lead attorney Teny Geragos expressed dissatisfaction with the ruling, arguing her client deserved a lighter sentence given his acquittal on the most serious charges The sentence includes credit for the 12 months already served since his September 2024 arrest.
