The Afghanistan Freedom Front issued a statement expressing condolences for the severe earthquake in northern Afghanistan that “caused casualties and extensive financial damage, especially in surrounding areas,” while criticizing the Taliban group.
The front announced that “hundreds of our compatriots are trapped under massive piles of rocks, soil and debris.”
The Afghanistan Freedom Front emphasized in its statement that “fighters of the Afghanistan Freedom Front are standing alongside the people and victims of this devastating natural event in all earthquake-affected areas and will not hesitate to provide any kind of assistance and support to them.
” The group also reported damage to “historical and cultural monuments and religious sites” including “the holy shrine in Balkh province center.”
This resistance front, referring to “experiences of similar events in the past four years,” stated that the Taliban group “not only lacks genuine and sincere intention to help people and at least facilitate international organizations’ aid delivery to them, but also lacks the capacity and ability to provide even the most basic medical and rehabilitation services to people in affected areas.”
